NYU Steinhardt Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions (MPAP) Music Technology Program seeks qualified candidates to teach “Audio for Video I / Introduction to Audio for Video.”

This course introduces the concepts and applications of audio production and post-production for video, television, interactive media, and film. Current production techniques frequently used in the post-production industry will be explored with special emphasis on sound design and synchronization as well as audio-sweetening techniques including music editing, sound effects design, foley, and dialog replacement. The basic theoretical and practical aspects of crafting sound for visual media and how it can be applied to various types of production in film, TV, live video, and interactive media will be discussed.

  • Master’s degree in music or music technology or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • Previous teaching experience 


  • 5 years experience and significant achievement in the field
  • Teaching at the Undergraduate and Graduate level
