Adjunct Faculty in Music Business Internships

NYU Steinhardt Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions (MPAP) Music Business Program seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate and graduate Music Business Internship courses starting Fall 2021. The adjunct faculty instructor for undergraduate and graduate internships will lead students through the internship application cycle, collaborating with the Program Director and Program Administrator to aggregate and disseminate internship opportunities, evaluate applications, support students and employers throughout the internship cycle, ensure student and employer compliance with standards and best practices and grade students on their written work. The instructor will manage and update employer information in the internship database. The instructor may also be asked on occasion to support virtual events with employers.


  • 1-3 years relevant experience in music industry, higher education, program development, or program support
  • Bachelor’s degree; Masters degree preferred but not required
  • Experience in administrative and program support or management 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (oral and written) 
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong initiative and ability to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and act with discretion
