Adjunct Lecturer of Communication - Audience Analysis

The Master of Communication Management (MCM) distance learning program in the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, University of Southern California seeks a qualified Adjunct Lecturer to supplement instruction offered by our full-time faculty, specifically teaching the distance learning program’s CMGT-587 Audience Analysis course. Topics include marketing research, research design, developing research questions, surveys, experiments, content analysis, focus groups, SPSS software, data and analytics, and APA writing style.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s in Communication, Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Management, or related fields.

Minimum Experience: 5 years of professional experience in marketing communication research.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education: Master or Ph.D. in Communication, Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Management, or related fields.

Preferred Experience: Teaching experience in communication research methods, other fields of applied communication. Demonstrated ability to coach and help students achieve their academic and professional goals. Work experience in related positions at national or global agencies or Fortune-500 tier companies.

USC reserves the “Adjunct” appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
