Founded in 1936, the School of Veterinary Science has a rich history and a reputation for graduating self-reliant, independent and highly capable veterinarians with plenty of initiative and drive. The School has high quality facilities at the UQ Gatton Campus, providing the teaching, research and clinical infrastructure and resources to develop its strong reputation as a leading provider of veterinary training, research and clinical care. The school also maintains a Small Animal Hospital and Large Animal Clinic at Dayboro, north-west of Brisbane.

 

The Role

The appointee will contribute to teaching, research and service in Veterinary Science through leading the development, implementation and integration of Blended Learning approaches to curriculum design and teaching practice within the Clinical Skills Hub. The role will contribute to veterinary teaching to undergraduate students in veterinary science, veterinary technology and science programs as well as to postgraduate students. The successful applicant will work closely with academic staff within the School of Veterinary Science to ensure integration of blended learning across many of the School programs and courses.

 

The appointee will be required to develop a research program in areas related to Blended Learning, including Self-Directed Learning (SDL), use of clinical models, and Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) activities or other areas related to scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). The role will include responsibility for contributing to the strategic development of SDL and TEL activities and growth of the role of the Clinical Skills Hub in supporting teaching and learning and enhancing the student experience and employability. The appointee will be expected to develop collaborations with external agencies, successfully seek and maintain partnerships and external funding and to supervise postgraduate students.

 

The Person

Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent in area of Science. You must have relevant experience in development of Blended Learning activities and material. The successful applicant will have high quality teaching and research experience.

Remuneration

This is a full-time continuing appointment at Academic Level B. The base remuneration package will be in the range $92,142- $109,419 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $107,807 - $128,020 p.a.).
