Law and New Technologies
Following its development in all the areas of the society, the Faculty of Law is creating a
teaching, research and advising centre focused on the links between law and digital issues. This
centre is based on the opening, during the 2018-2019 academic year, of an new tech and
innovation space at FLD Paris (in Issy-les-Moulineaux) and the design of a "Legaltech" project
developed in the Hauts-de-France Region, in partnership with various legal professions
(lawyers, notaries, bailiffs, etc.). These experiences will nourish the ambition of a research,
carried out for the benefit of the faculty, on the influence of the digital on the law and the Justice
favouring mainly the thematic of the emerging risks of its Research Center on the Relations
between the Risk and the Right (C3RD). Presenting a trans-disciplinary and transnational
dimension, the research carried out on the theme of law and digital will also contribute to the
application of the agreements and partnerships already concluded by the faculty in this respect,
in particular with the University of Namur and its Research Centre Information Law and Society
(CRIDS). The achievement of these different objectives will constitute the main missions of an
Associate Professor in Digital Rights at the Issy-les-Moulineaux campus of the Faculty of Law.

Teaching activities

 To teach and coordinate different courses (lectures, tutorials, methodology seminars)
and respond to all the obligations associated, such as correcting exam papers, ensuring
oral examinations, continuous assessment and final examinations and preparing
material support for the different interventions and make them available for students on
the pedagogy platform or digital resources platform.
 To teach in French and/or English.
 To participate in ongoing training activities.
 To take part in all other activities relating to teaching: tutoring, methodology seminars,
student follow-up, coaching and project organizing with the students.

Research activities
 To participate in the development of research in relation with the works of the Research
Centre on the Relations between Risk and Law (C3RD);
 To participate in national or international conferences;
 To value research by publishing scientific literature;
 To engage in national and international legal researchers network;
 To propose and draft grant applications;
 To prepare, on a mid-term basis, the French "Habilitation à diriger des recherches";
 To contribute to the preparation of the HCERES evaluation report.
Participation in the campus life
 Leading innovative academic projects in the field of law and digital matters, in particular
with the French and international partners of the Faculty of Law.
 Participate in the incubation and acceleration activities of "legaltech" projects within
the Issy-les-Moulineaux campus, as well as "incubation" opportunities on the Lille
campus of the faculty.
 Take in charge of administrative responsibilities (Direction course in License, Master,
or other types of training (DU, alternation, etc ...).
 To participate in the daily life of the Faculty of Law: prospections, promotion and
representation of the Faculty.
 To participate in the life of the Université Catholique de Lille: transversal services
meetings, general assemblies...
Education and competence requirements:

 Doctor in law.
 Good command of digital tools and multimedia.
 Research activity.
 Must have an experience in teaching.
 Availability, engagement and able to take responsibilities.
 This offer requires the applicant to be living around Paris (Ile de France).
 Required languages: French/English. More appreciated.
 Open to interdisciplinarity (engineering, management...)
The Faculty of Law
The Faculty of Law constitutes the legal center of higher education of the Université Catholique de
Lille founded in 1875. This multidisciplinary university is composed of 6 faculties: Law, Arts and
Social Sciences, Medecine, Economics and Management, Sciences and Technologies, Theology),
20 schools and institutes, along which there 6 engineering schools, 3 business and management
schools, medical and paramedical schools and social work schools...It also englobes a Hospital
Group and around 50 research teams.

The center of Research on the Relations between Risk and Law (C3RD)
Created in 2006, the C3RD is an interdisciplinary research laboratory (private law, public law,
history and legal philosophy, political science and economy) and transversal (human rights,
sustainable development, enterprise, new technologies, health and religion, etc.). Its principle
axes of research consist on the one hand on the legal risks, and on the other hand risk
management by law.

Work conditions

The applicant will dispose of an office, a computer with internet access and different digital and
online resources of the University with an access to the different infrastructures of the University,
should he or she be hired. The wage is fixed according to the scale applicable to the teachersresearchers and lecturers, as established by the National Collective Convention of the University
and Catholic Institutes in France since June 4th, 2002.
