The Department of Business Development and Technology (BTECH) at Aarhus BSS, Aarhus University invites applications for postdoctoral positions. A postdoc position is a fixed term (2½ years) position. The starting date is 1 May 2019 or as agreed upon.

With reference to the newly approved Servitize.DK and DIGIB2B projects (both funded by the Danish Industry Foundation), the job responsibilities of the postdocs will be to:

  1. Engage in research activities within digitalisation and servitisation
  2. Collaborate with partner organisations within the two projects
  3. Drive and facilitate activities within the businesses that participate in the projects
  4. Document processes and interventions in a rigorous manner, ensuring publishable results

The Servitize.DK project aims at enhancing the servitisation among Danish manufacturing SMEs and the DIGIB2B project seeks to increase the understanding of the potential of digitalisation among Danish manufacturing SMEs.

Job description
BTECH is dedicated to excellence in technology-driven business development as well as core business disciplines and offers study programmes in these fields.

We are looking for eminent candidates who can strengthen our research profile and contribute to our research within servitisation and digitalisation. It is paramount that the candidate conducts research on topics that are relevant to modern businesses as well as the Servitize.DK and DigiB2B projects. Candidates with research activities involving digitalisation and servitisation will be preferred.

The applicant is also expected (to a limited degree) to teach and supervise students at bachelor’s and master’s level. Our study programmes include an MSc in International Business Development, a Bachelor in Economics and Business Administration, an MSc in Technology Based Business Development and two bachelor’s programmes in Business Development Engineer (BDE) and Global Management and Manufacturing (GMM). Applicants with solid experience within problem-based learning will be preferred.

Qualification requirements
Applicants for a postdoctoral position should hold a PhD or equivalent academic qualifications.

Applicants are encouraged to describe how their research is linked to businesses, society and servitisation/digitalisation.

A central part of the positions is that the postdocs are capable of interacting with managers within Danish companies. Hence, it is a qualification requirement that the applicants can speak and write Danish at an operable level.
