The professorship represents the subject in research, teaching and patient care in its entirety and is connected with the management of the Pathological Institute of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (LMU).

The LMU would like to win a well-qualified personality who has demonstrated her academic qualification following a university degree in medicine as well as an above-average doctoral degree or comparable qualification through internationally visible, excellent performance in research and teaching and who has gained recognition as a specialist. Specialist in Pathology.

 

The Pathology Institute is involved in numerous research networks of the LMU with national and international partners. Particularly noteworthy is the German Consortium for Translational Cancer Research (DKTK) and the Comprehensive Cancer Center Munich. The future chair holder or the future chair holder is expected to be involved in these networks.

 

It is intended to regulate the tasks associated with the professorship in the context of patient care, including the right to liquidate by chief physician contract. For the fulfillment of the tasks of the professorship a private law employment relationship is intended in principle.
