The Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) is one of the most renowned and largest universities in Germany.



The professorship represents the field of medical microbiology in its entirety in research and teaching. We are seeking a nationally and internationally recognized, highly qualified researcher who will strengthen the research focus "Molecular Pathogenesis of Bacterial Infectious Diseases" at the Max von Pettenkofer-Institut. It is expected that the professorship will contribute significantly to the existing and planned research networks as well as the translational research of the German Center for Infection Research; Proven successful third-party funding in collaborative projects is therefore highly desirable.


The Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) addresses this call for tenders especially to highly qualified junior scientists who, after completing a university degree, as well as an above-average doctoral degree or comparable aptitude through their achievements in research and teaching, have an extraordinary potential for one have proven another career in science.


The appointment takes place in the presence of the civil service requirements in a civil servant relationship for a period of six years. With a positive evaluation of professional, pedagogical and personal suitability, the temporary civil servant relationship can be converted into a civil service contract for a minimum of three years at the earliest.
