Position Description

The Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking applications for one full-time faculty at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank without tenure track. This position will have an annual service period of 12 months (July 1 – June 30). The salary and rank is commensurate with applicant’s training, qualifications, and experience, with an expected start date in Summer 2020.

 

This position will be based at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and University of Washington Medical Center-Northgate Campus, and will provide a spectrum of breast surgery services as well as participate in broader breast health multidisciplinary clinics. UW Medicine surgeons are expected to develop an area of scholarly expertise, as expected of every faculty member, in consultation with the Division and Section Chief. The UW Medical Center is a nationally recognized academic medical center offering outstanding specialty and primary care. UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

 

Qualifications

The candidates must have an MD (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified or board eligible (or foreign equivalent) in surgery.

 

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
