This is a tenure-track, 36-week appointment with the possibility of supplementary summer appointments in research and/or teaching beginning fall semester 2020. Responsibilities include: teaching courses, on campus and on line, to students with interests in higher education; advising master’s and doctoral students; performing nationally and internationally recognized research and scholarship in areas related to higher education; seeking and securing external support for research; and providing service to the University, profession, and community. Required qualifications: earned doctorate in Higher Education or a relevant discipline by start date of appointment, including but not limited to: sociology, political science, public policy, cultural studies; evidence of a commitment to developing a significant program of research, commensurate with experience; evidence of a commitment to excellence in teaching and advising including a willingness to consider teaching in online environments, along with an interest in the use of modern technology, commensurate with experience; evidence of a commitment to working collegially and with individuals from diverse backgrounds, commensurate with experience. Desired qualifications include expertise that will complement and extend the strengths of current faculty, including the areas of gender, race, and cultural studies related to higher education and educational policy, feminist and/or intersectional perspectives on organizational behavior and student life. Scholars who possess expertise in relevant epistemology and methodology, such as qualitative, interpretive research, textual analysis, and discourse analysis are especially encouraged to apply.
