Drexel University's Nurse Anesthesia Department is seeking highly qualified applicants for a fulltime, 12-month, non-tenure track Assistant Clinical Professor appointment. The nurse anesthesia program was established in 1973 and is fully accredited by the Council on Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Qualifications

Education and experience 
- Doctoral degree (clinical or research doctorate) from an accredited institution required or current enrollment in a doctoral program 
- Prior experience as a nurse anesthesia educator 
- An unencumbered registered nursing license or, if out of state, eligible for licensure as a registered professional nurse in the State of Pennsylvania. 
- Current CRNA Certification/Recertification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). 
- Active clinical practice as a certified registered nurse anesthetist 
- Current membership in the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists; 
- Active involvement in local, regional, and national specialty organizations

 

Essential Functions

Responsibilities and Duties: 
- Collaborates with the program administrators and faculty to define, develop and implement the Nurse Anesthesia curriculum that support the student learning outcomes (SLO). 
- Develops and implements innovative didactic instruction for nurse anesthesia core curriculum 
- Develops and implements innovative simulation scenarios to reinforce didactic theory and clinical practice 
- Active participation on nurse anesthesia program committees 
- Attend all appropriate college nursing faculty meetings, including the Philadelphia Advisory Committee 
- Active participation on college or nursing faculty committees as identified by program chair 
- Develop and support student community service/civic engagement activities 
- Support student clinical education as identified by Director of Clinical Education 
- Demonstrate flexibility, innovation and engagement in administrative and faculty duties 
- Ability to articulate plans and expectations in a clear and concise manner
- Network with key stakeholders to promote the interests of the nurse anesthesia program 
- Model and uphold ethical and professional behavior 
- Adhere to COA Standards and the policies of the university and college 
- Ability to practice clinically one day per week 
- Other duties as assigned
