ADMINISTRATIVE APPOINTMENT
IU Columbus is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Assistant Dean of Nursing. This appointment is available August 1, 2024. This role is responsible for providing operational leadership to the IU School of Nursing at IU Columbus: faculty, staff, and students. The Assistant Dean is responsible for supporting the Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON) in the administration, teaching and scholarship activities relevant to the campus. The Assistant Dean reports to and is accountable to the Associate Dean and/or Executive Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. The Assistant Dean participates in faculty governance as recommended by IUSON Bylaws. The Assistant Dean will collaborate with the Assistant Dean for Pre-Licensure Programs and other faculty governance committees, as appropriate, and collaborate with campus level full and part-time faculty teaching courses in the undergraduate program, undergraduate clinical preceptors, student services and advising, and external constituencies to ensure excellence in pre licensure didactic and clinical experiences and student outcomes. Functions of this role include personal teaching and scholarship, community partnerships, IU Columbus faculty leadership, IU Columbus Campus Administration, and IUSON Administration.
Basic Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS: Earned doctorate degree required; nursing major preferred; Master’s in nursing required if doctorate is not in nursing; Candidates must be licensed as an RN in Indiana; Administrative experience; Record of scholarly achievement and demonstrated expertise in leadership and interpersonal skills.
