Assistant Lecturer in Japanese Studies

Assistant Lecturer in Japanese Studies in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures (Ref.: 516149) (to commence on August 1, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to performance and availability of funding)

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Japanese language pedagogy or other relevant fields with normally at least 3 years’ experience in teaching Japanese as a foreign language at all levels in tertiary education. They should also be conversant with current trends in language teaching and assessment method, and possess native/near-native fluency in Japanese and good communication skills in English. The appointee is expected to teach a range of language courses at various levels, to develop new courses, and to design original teaching materials and various procedures of assessment. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
