Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, a fully affiliated teaching site for the University of Toronto, is seeking a full-time neuropsychiatrist or cognitive neurologist for its Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2019.

The Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic is situated in Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Canada’s largest tertiary referral trauma centre, and provides behavioral assessments to patients with mild to moderate brain injuries. The Clinic’s mandate is to assess and treat patients within three months of injury. Brain imaging (fMRI) and neuropsychological testing are integral to the clinic and a research component is built in to allow access to a large, longitudinal behavioral database.

The successful candidate should possess strong leadership skills with a capacity for team-building and fostering multi-disciplinary collaboration. The selected psychiatrist or cognitive neurologist will be responsible for a combination of patient care and teaching of medical students, residents and fellows. They should be a clinician-investigator with a proven track record of independent scholarship in the neuroscience field with a focus on traumatic brain injury. Previous expertise in rTMS is considered an asset. The successful candidate must be an effective teacher, committed to sustained excellence in teaching.

The candidate must be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Salary is approximately $300,000-$350,000/year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
