University of Washington School of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at Seattle Children’s Hospital has five academic anesthesiologist positions available at the rank of Assistant Professor.  These positions are without tenure, due to funding, and candidates may be hired as either full-time or part-time.  Visa sponsorship is available only for full-time positions.  Assistant professors are on a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30).  The anticipated start date is July 2021 or soon thereafter.  University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.  Seattle Children’s provides care to children from the WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho) region and supports all pediatric surgical and medical specialties.  Responsibilities include clinical activities in the general operating rooms and possibly the inpatient pain service, teaching of residents, fellows and medical students and supervision of clinical care team.


Must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and a minimum of one year fellowship training (or foreign equivalent) in pediatric anesthesia.  Must be board certified (or foreign equivalent) or eligible in anesthesiology and obtain State of Washington medical licensure.  In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the US Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
