The Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics at The University of Chicago invites applications for an Assistant Professor position. 

We seek applicants with broad expertise in areas related to the co-evolution of galaxies and their central black holes, including topics such as theoretical analysis, simulation of astrophysical systems, analysis of datasets such as quasar spectra, photometric sky catalogs, pulsar timing arrays, and gravitational-wave sources. The ideal applicant will have demonstrated creative and original contributions to theory, as well as active leadership in current and future experimental collaborations.


All requirements for a Ph.D. in astrophysics or a closely related field must be completed prior to the start of the appointment, expected to be July 1, 2023.
