Black Hills State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position in Biochemistry beginning August 2019.


The successful candidate will teach Biochemistry I/II, Survey of Organic and Biochemistry and courses in an area of specialization at the undergraduate level. The ideal candidate will generate research opportunities for undergraduate students, take advantage of the scientific opportunities at BHSU, and serve as a mentor in programs such as the Master of Science in Integrative Genomics program and South Dakota-Biomedical Research Infrastructure Network (SD-BRIN).


A PhD in Biochemistry, or closely related field, required prior to start of the fall 2019 semester.

The School of Natural Sciences at Black Hills State University is a vibrant, growing department with approximately 23 faculty members in biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental physical science. Faculty and their students conduct research on-campus in labs such as the Center for the Conservation of Biological Resources (CCBR), the Scanning Electron Microscopy laboratory, LA-ICP-MS facility, the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) in Lead, and a number of other research facilities housed in the School of Natural Sciences.
