The School of Health Policy & Management, Faculty of Health, York University, invites highly qualified candidates to apply for a professorial stream tenure-track position in Digital Health, Informatics, Analytics, Machine learning at the rank of Assistant Professor, Professorial Stream to commence January 1, 2023. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.

Applicants must hold a PhD, or PhD near completion, in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Sciences or a related field. Candidates must have expertise in one or more of healthcare analytics/machine learning, big data linkage and analysis, or health intelligence. Demonstrated success working with health professionals and the intersection between health data and health equity would be an asset.

The successful candidate will be expected to engage in outstanding, innovative, and as appropriate, externally funded research at the highest level.

Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence or promise of research excellence of a recognized international calibre as demonstrated in: the research statement; a record of publications (or forthcoming publications) with significant journals in the field; presentations at major conferences; and awards and accolades.

The position will involve graduate teaching and supervision, as well as undergraduate teaching and the successful candidate must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Evidence of excellence or promise of excellence in teaching will be provided through: the teaching statement; teaching accomplishments and pedagogical innovations including in high priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning; and teaching evaluations. Candidates will be required to teach in the BHS program and the graduate program in Health. The successful candidate is also expected to provide evidence of service contributions or potential to contribute to service in administrative and committee work.
