As part of our ambitious strategy to deliver high-quality Degree Level Apprenticeships, the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham is recruiting a senior member of the teaching team to deliver a new Electro-Mechanical Engineer Apprenticeship programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the programme, inspire the next generation of engineers and broaden the reach of professional engineering skills education.

You will work closely with the Head of Department and Director of Apprenticeships to develop and deliver high-quality teaching on the 5-year apprenticeship, liaising with employers and apprentices throughout their engagement with the programme, from first contact through to graduation and beyond.

With a proven track record of training or developing others in acquiring the key knowledge, skills and behaviours to succeed in the engineering field, you will have a passion to deliver to the highest possible standards of apprenticeship learning. The ability to build and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels will be essential to ensuring the quality experience for apprentices and employers which you will deliver. Similarly, a good knowledge of electro-mechanical engineering subject areas will enable you to create and deliver first rate teaching materials.

Ideally, you will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and able to demonstrate an engineering competency, understanding and experience, which you may have gained from working in an industrial, apprenticeship delivery or Higher Education background, or as a Chartered Engineer.

Experience of face-to-face, on-line and blended learning environments and teaching experience at level 6 including assessment of student progress would be an advantage.

The post is offered on a permanent contract. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week); however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may also be considered.
