Salary
£36914 to £49553 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for the post of Assistant Professor (Research and Teaching) within the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham. 

 The successful candidate will have research expertise pertaining to one or more of the following areas:

  • Contemporary global challenges, such as the politics of identity (including race/racism, gender, or sexuality), bio or cyber security, environmental politics/climate change, political communication, social movements, populism, or authoritarianism.
  • Regional expertise that is currently underrepresented in the School, such as the USA, Latin America or Africa.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and contribute to high quality modules for undergraduates and postgraduates; conduct assessments of student work at all levels; provide pastoral care and to contribute to administrative tasks in the School. 

Evidence of a proven ability to produce academic research of internationally-recognised calibre and experience of teaching at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level is essential.

The successful candidate must have a PhD in Politics/International Relations or related subject (candidates nearing completion may be considered).

This full-time (36.25 hours per week) post is available on a permanent basis from 1 September 2021.
