Assistant Professor in Sport-Related Concussion

Position Description

The Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor in sport-related concussion with specific expertise in a related field of exercise physiology, biomechanics, exercise science, health science, behavioural science, injury prevention, rehabilitation science, data science, or another relevant field.  The appointment date for the successful candidate is anticipated to be September 2019. The successful candidate will have earned a PhD in a sport-related concussion field, be at an early phase of research career, and have demonstrated excellence in research publication and external funding. The successful candidate will pursue a novel and independent research program in the field of sport-related concussion in alignment with the Sport Injury Prevention Research Centre in the Faculty of Kinesiology, the campus-wide Integrated Concussion Research Program at the University of Calgary, and the Hotchkiss Brain Institute. The successful candidate would also have opportunities for alignment with the research priorities of the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute and O’Brien Institute for Public Health. The candidate will have the potential to become a leader in their research field with a plan for significant contribution to the Faculty of Kinesiology in undergraduate teaching, graduate teaching and supervision, and service.
