The Media & Journalism Department at The University of South Dakota is currently seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor. This is a nine-month tenure-track position beginning August 22, 2019.


The department is seeking an individual with primary teaching responsibilities in Strategic Communication and/or Social Media Marketing in the Media & Journalism and Sport Marketing & Media degree programs. Excellence in teaching is expected in both face-to-face and online courses. The successful candidate will also serve as a mentor to students outside the classroom. The successful candidate will maintain an active program of research and scholarship.


A Ph.D. in Mass Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or related field is preferred, although candidates who are ABDwill be considered.
