We are seeking applications for a full-time teaching (non-tenure) track Assistant Professor appointment in the Department of Urban-Global Public Health. The successful candidate will primarily be devoted to our teaching mission, with a focus on nutrition-focused and core courses. This MPH in Public Health Nutrition program is ranked #6 among by MPHOnline.org.
The Department currently has four concentrations: urban public health, global public health, LGBTQ health and public health nutrition. In addition to teaching, the position will include academic and practicum advising, education-related scholarship, as well as mentoring for our MPH and DrPH students. Participation in research projects and community engagement is also encouraged. The incumbent faculty member shall:
· Teach up to 6 courses per year (in-person, remote, asynchronous)
· Update or develop online versions of classes and develop new courses as needed
· Use pedagogically sound teaching methods that include active and experiential learning to implement in person and online courses
· Ensure courses reflect diversity, equity and inclusion in both content and implementation.
· Provide academic and practicum advising and mentorship to Master of Public Health and Doctor of Public Health degree students
· Collaborate with School of Public Health and School of Health Professions colleagues to ensure that courses continue to meet the needs of both programs (note: The School of Health Professions collaborates in the public health nutrition concentration)
· Teach to the educational requirements and expectations associated with the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) accreditation criteria; develop course content that meets and assesses these requirements and participate in all School assessments of courses required for CEPH accreditation
· Collaborate with other faculty on research and publications
· Participate in departmental and School service and community engagement

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement |
Rutgers University requires all new employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the employee a medical or religious exemption. Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same. Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination. |
