The Terrence Donnelly Centre (Donnelly Centre) and the Department of Biochemistry invite applications for a full-time tenure stream position in aging, cellular senescence, and/or tissue regeneration. This is a joint appointment: 51% at the Donnelly Centre and 49% in the Department of Biochemistry, at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2026.
The successful candidate will establish an innovative research program exploring molecular and cellular mechanisms of aging and senescence, with applications to tissue regeneration, age-related diseases, or longevity. Candidates who employ cutting-edge approaches—such as genetic and epigenetic analysis, organoid models, regenerative biology, senescence-targeted therapeutics, single-cell omics, spatial transcriptomics, CRISPR screens, or live-cell imaging—are particularly encouraged to apply.
PhD in a relevant field by the time of appointment
Demonstrated excellence in research and teaching
Postdoctoral training in molecular genetics, regenerative medicine, systems biology, or biogerontology preferred
Strong record of publications in leading journals and evidence of high international standards
Ability to establish and maintain an externally funded, high-impact research program
Demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentorship
Conduct independent, innovative research at the highest international level
Collaborate with the Donnelly Centre and Department of Biochemistry communities
Contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching and student supervision
Establish an outstanding, externally funded research program
Engage with interdisciplinary teams and foster collaborative research
