The Faculty of Science seeks an Assistant Professor in Biochemistry to lead independent research, secure funding, and contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching. The role involves teaching, research, mentoring, and administrative responsibilities.
Research:
Lead independent research projects and groups
Secure financial support (grant applications, international funding)
Publish in top-tier international journals
Participate in domestic and international scientific conferences
Contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge dissemination
Teaching:
Teach courses in Biochemistry and related fields at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral levels
Develop study materials and participate in program development
Mentor and supervise students
Other Duties:
Engage in outreach and popularization of science
Contribute to operational and administrative tasks within the department
Education & Experience:
Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field
Excellent publication record or applied research experience
Minimum 2 years of significant research experience outside the Czech Republic
Willingness to teach English-taught programs
Ability to establish and lead an independent research team
Strong interest in student mentoring and interdisciplinary collaboration
Skills:
Good command of English (spoken and written)
Preparedness for competitive international funding applications (ERC, Horizon Europe)
