The Department of Biological Sciences at UTSC invites applications for a three-year, full-time CLTA in Biotechnology and Translational Biology. The successful candidate will:
Design and teach biotechnology curricula emphasizing computational tools, translational applications, and biomedical innovation.
Integrate technology, production, bioethics, and regulatory frameworks into teaching.
Contribute to departmental teaching strengths and collaborate with the Scarborough Academy of Medicine and Integrated Health (SAMIH).
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biotechnology and translational biology
Develop and deliver lectures, online content, and laboratory instruction
Mentor and supervise students in academic and research activities
Contribute to teaching-related scholarly activity and pedagogical research
Foster an inclusive and diverse learning environment
PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, or related fields (by the time of appointment)
Demonstrated excellence in teaching in degree-granting programs
Experience with curriculum development, lecture preparation, online teaching materials, and pedagogy
Strong record of pedagogical inquiry, teaching awards, and scholarly activity
Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in teaching and mentorship
Preferred: Post-doctoral experience in academia or industry
