The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
Expertise is required in the specific area of Clinical Chemistry. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D. degree.
Ph.D. applicants must have appropriate postgraduate board certification or active candidate status (ABMGG in Clinical Biochemical Genetics).
M.D. applicants must have board eligibility/certification in clinical pathology.
Physicians must be eligible/licensed in the state of Pennsylvania.
Teaching responsibilities may include fellows, residents, medical and graduate students or Medical Laboratory Scientist students.
Clinical responsibilities may include assisting in oversight of clinical chemistry laboratory operations, clinical test interpretation, quality control, innovation and test development. The successful candidate will serve as Assistant Director of the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory.
Demonstrated ability in test development, experience with total lab automation, and expertise with mass spectrometry is required. Post-graduate training experience in pediatric clinical chemistry is strongly preferred.
