Assistant Professor of Clinical Child Psychology

Yale University

United States

The Yale Child Study Center has openings for full-time pediatric psychologists dedicated to providing integrated mental health supports and services to children, teens, and families in ambulatory medical specialty clinics.  Successful candidates will be appointed as Assistant Professor on the Clinical Track and will provide brief assessment, intervention, and referral to services as part of an interdisciplinary health team.  Our embedded pediatric psychologists work collaboratively with pediatric sub-specialists, nurses, social workers, and allied professionals.  Pediatric psychologists will be integrated in clinics in the areas of gastroenterology, diabetes, food allergy/immunology, and hematology-oncology.

Our pediatric psychologists are integral members of the Child Study Center’s Outpatient Services; specific clinical services include psychological assessments, psychotherapy with medically complex patients and their families, clinical consultation with interdisciplinary team members, and facilitation of transitions in care to other sections within the Yale Child Study Center or to community-based services.

The mission of the Yale Child Study Center is to improve the mental health of children and families, advance understanding of their psychological and developmental needs, and treat and prevent childhood mental illness through the integration of research, clinical practice, and professional training.  The Child Study Center is committed to recruiting, supporting and encouraging the most gifted clinicians, researchers, and leaders in the field today as well those in succeeding generations in the service of its clinical, research, training, policy, and prevention agendas.

Successful candidates must possess a doctoral degree in psychology with training in pediatric psychology and be licensed or license-eligible in Connecticut.  Training and experience in collaborative, integrated behavioral health models of service delivery in specialty medical clinics are highly preferred.   We welcome applicants with interests in program development, quality improvement, and training practicum students, psychology interns, and/or postdoctoral fellows.
