Seeking a full time faculty Clinical Sport Psychologist, Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry & The Behavioral Sciences  for the Division of Student Mental Health in the Keck School of Medicine of USC Department of Psychiatry to provide services exclusively to the university’s student athletes.


The position is the result of a joint collaboration between the USC Student Counseling Services and the Athletic Department. The psychologist will work as a member of the USC Sport Psychology team with oversight and under the supervision of the Associate Director at Counseling and Mental Health in charge of Clinical & Sport Psychology Services for Athletics. The responsibilities include providing individual psychotherapy, crisis intervention and on-call services, performance enhancement with individuals and teams, and groups for USC student athletes at an NCAA Division I University with 21 teams and approximately 630 student athletes.


Applicants must be licensed as a psychologist in good standing and have a Doctorate in Counseling or Clinical psychology from an APA-accredited program, and preferably have completed an accredited APA-predoctoral internship. A good understanding of boundaries and professional ethics is a must. Experience as a college athlete would be helpful, but not necessary. Organizational skills, follow through, and ability to work independently in a responsible manner are all essential to this position. Expertise and/or experience in women’s issues is required. Experience in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds is essential. Experience in working with college students with eating disorders, including an eating disorder treatment team, and/or LGBTQ+ issues preferred.


This is a faculty position in the Division of Student Mental Health in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. The position is full-time.
