Do you have a PhD and a strong track record in Clinical/Forensic Psychology research and do you want to combine research and teaching? We are looking for an Assistant Professor in Clinical/Forensic psychology.

The Clinical Psychology program at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) offers a specialization in Clinical and Forensic psychology, and participates in the two-year Psychology Research Masters programme. As an Assistant professor you  will work in close collaboration with the coordinator of the Forensic Psychology master, Associate Professor Dr. Bruno Verschuere.

What are you going to do?

You will:

  • develop, carry-out and supervise research at a high academic level, develop an independent line of research;
  • strive to acquire external funding for research;
  • actively contribute to the teaching of the programme group, predominantly in the mastertracks Clinical/Forensic Psychology (e.g., the course ''Clinical Forensic Psychology: Interventions''; supervision of Clinical/Forensic internships; supervision of clinical/forensic master's thesis research).

What to we require of you?

You have:

  • a PhD in Clinical/Forensic Psychology;
  • a strong track record in Clinical/Forensic Psychology research;
  • affinity with Forensic Psychology;
  • experience with university teaching, preferably in Clinical/Forensic Psychology;
  • some clinical experience (i.e., in assessing and/or treating patients);
  • a willingness to learn Dutch.

Our offer

This is a temporary employment contract of 38 hours per week for the duration of 2 years. Depending on your experience, the minimum salary is € 3,746 and the maximum salary is € 5,127 (salary scale 11) gross per month with a 38-hour working week, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities. We also offer an extensive package of secondary benefits, including 8% vacation pay and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
