The Department of Economics at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position. We welcome outstanding candidates in all fields of economics who are motivated to contribute to research, teaching, and the department’s academic community.
The position is a six-year fixed-term appointment, combining research and teaching responsibilities, with the potential for promotion to a tenured associate professor after evaluation.
Conduct high-quality research in economics and disseminate findings in top-tier journals.
Teach and supervise undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students.
Engage in knowledge sharing and societal impact activities.
Participate in research and teaching management, departmental administration, and examinations.
Seek and manage external research funding.
PhD in Economics or equivalent academic qualifications.
Strong research record and potential for international recognition.
Commitment to student learning, teaching excellence, and student welfare.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Additional expectations for tenure-track:
Complete the university’s Teaching and Learning in Higher Education course.
Acquire proficiency in Danish within 2–4 years for teaching and departmental collaboration (language training will be provided).

Salary starts at DKK 41,311/month + 18.07% pension contribution.
Salary supplements may be negotiated annually.
Terms follow the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (Akademikerne).
