Assistant Teaching Professor CALS Agricultural Education and Studies (One Year Term)

The Department of Agricultural Education and Studies at Iowa State University located in Ames, Iowa seeks applicants for a 9-month, one-year appointment, at the rank of assistant teaching professor. This position focuses on agricultural teacher education. The position is 80% teaching, and 20% research.
Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, both resident and online and initiating a focused area of scholarship. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest and ability related to agriculture and life sciences education focused on teacher preparation. Teaching assignments may include undergraduate teaching methods, presentation strategies, and supervision of student teachers. Graduate level teaching may include introduction to research. Master of Science, awarded by the start date, in Agricultural Education or closely‐related field.
Experience in teacher education.
Experience conducting research.
PhD, awarded by the start date, in Agricultural Education or closely‐related field.
Three or more years of teaching experience in agriculture or closely-related field at the school-based or college level.
Demonstrated ability, interest, and innovation in resident and online teaching.
Demonstrated experience and interest instructional methods (principles of teaching and learning) and quantitative research methods and statistics.
Evidence of ability to work effectively with all students, faculty, and staff populations.
