The University of Texas at Austin, College of Education, Department of Educational Leadership & Policy (ELP), is seeking a tenure-track assistant professor for our Program in Higher Education Leadership and Policy (PHELP).
ELP is consistently ranked among the top five educational administration and supervision departments in the nation, and our higher education administration area has been on the rise in recent years (top 10 among public universities). We are an active and supportive community of scholars interested in studying the impact of education policy and practice on traditionally marginalized student populations and in developing culturally responsive and innovative educational leaders committed to equitable opportunities for all. We seek candidates whose research, teaching, and service have prepared them to contribute to our commitment to serving students from across Texas, the country, and the world.
For this assistant professor search, we seek applicants whose scholarship advances our understanding of student development, student affairs, or higher education leadership. We particularly value scholars with a strong background in college student development, as their expertise is integral to our mission to train scholar-practitioners for all post-secondary education spaces. The program is also keenly interested in contextual factors influencing college student experiences, engagement, success, and environments.
Promising candidates can use various disciplinary perspectives and methodological approaches to inform their work. We invite applications from researchers whose scholarship informs policy and improves practice. Successful candidates will have an outstanding record of or strong potential for research productivity, the potential to develop independent, externally funded research, the ability to mentor graduate students and supervise doctoral dissertations, professional experience in student affairs administration, and an ability to collaborate with others for the good of the department, university, and their scholarly field.
