The Department of Kinesiology and Health Education at The University of Texas at Austin is accepting applications from qualified individuals for a full-time, Assistant Professor of Practice position with a starting date of August 2025. Successful candidates for this non-tenure track position will have the appropriate academic and practical preparation to teach across disciplines in Aquatics.  Applicants are required to have the following certification: American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (LGIT) and American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT). Additionally, Pool Operator Certification is preferred. Responsibilities may also include the supervision of Teaching Assistants and/or student aides.

Qualifications

A master's degree is preferred but an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience maybe substituted as appropriate. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and a student-centered approach to teaching undergraduate courses. Course instruction assignments may include Beginning Swimming 1 & 2, Stroke technique/Swim Conditioning, and WSI/Lifeguard Training.
