Position Description

The VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) and the University of Washington (UW) Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, are seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position based out of VAPSHCS.  This position will be at the Assistant Professor level (without tenure due to funding).  This position will include a leadership role as the Director of the Women’s Program for VAPSHCS. The new faculty member would be expected to provide clinical care and teach in the Primary Care Service Line at the VAPSHCS. This position will have clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities.

This position would have an annual service period of 12 months [July1-June30]. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The anticipated start date would be July 1, 2020.


Qualifications

Requirements include an M.D. or D.O. degree (or foreign equivalent) and Internal Medicine board eligibility/certification (or foreign equivalent).  Eligible candidates must have an established record of at least two years as a superior teacher, with documentation of such, in a university setting with both medical students and residents.  Applicants must show evidence of scholarly productivity and peer-reviewed publications of original studies.  Applicants must also have experience with clinical program leadership and expertise in women’s health. Any U.S. Citizen may apply.
