The Department of Geological Sciences seeks an Assistant Professor specializing in paleontology. The successful candidate will engage in teaching at all levels (Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD), supervise student theses, conduct research in palaeontology, and contribute to departmental research projects.
Prepare and deliver teaching in palaeontology, stratigraphy, and historical geology
Supervise Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD student theses
Conduct independent research in palaeontology
Prepare and submit research project proposals and contribute to ongoing projects
Participate in interdisciplinary collaborations across Masaryk University
PhD (or equivalent) in Geology or related field
Significant research and publication record in palaeontology
Professional experience in palaeontology, including documentation and management of palaeontological collections
Practical knowledge of regional geology of the Czech Republic, especially continental environments
Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
Proficiency in Czech (teaching in Czech expected, especially in early semesters)
Motivation and qualifications for teaching and further academic/professional development
Engaging work with students and research teams
