Position Overview

The Department of Medical Imaging at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC) and the University of Toronto are recruiting two (2) full-time radiologists in the Emergency & Trauma Radiology Division, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026, or sooner if possible.

The Emergency and Trauma Radiology Division (ETRD) provides critical imaging services for SHSC’s dynamic Emergency Department and internationally recognized specialty programs. Successful candidates will also contribute as Clinician-Teachers in Undergraduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education, Residency, and Fellowship Programs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide interpretation of acute care imaging, including overnight on-call coverage.

  • Participate in all areas of subspecialty emergency and trauma imaging.

  • Report a mix of acute care and outpatient imaging studies during the daytime.

  • Engage in teaching and mentorship for medical students, residents, and fellows.


Qualifications

  • Eligible for academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto.

  • Fellowship in Diagnostic Imaging from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or international equivalent.

  • Eligible for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

  • Sufficient experience in Emergency and Trauma Imaging.

  • Required: One year of dedicated fellowship training in Emergency and Trauma Radiology post-residency.


Salary and Benefits

  • Academic rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

  • Compensation based on fee-for-service model.

  • Estimated income range: $300,000 – $500,000 CAD per annum, with potential for higher compensation based on experience and academic credentials.
