The Law, Communications, and Ethics Area at the Daniels School of Business, Purdue University, invites candidates to apply for a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor position (non-tenure track but promotable to higher rank). Candidates should have experience in teaching business law, ethics, and related courses. The appointment is expected to begin August 2025.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include a subset of the following:
• Teach undergraduate business law and ethics courses as needed by the department.
• Teach masters level business law and ethics courses as needed by the department.
• The teaching load for this position is 18 to 21 credit hours per year dependent on the service assigned to the position, and courses can be taught in person, hybrid, and online, as determined by department needs.
• The service component for this role is an additional 6 to 9 hours per academic year. That service component may include serving in the Cornerstone for Business and Ethics Center or in the Brock-Wilson Center for Women in Business. Each area is experiencing dramatic growth.
• It may also include facilitating an ethics competition for the Ethics Center.
• The service component will include additional duties as needed by the department.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• JD at the time of appointment
• Relevant college or university teaching experience
• Qualified under AACSB standards
• Experience practicing law in either the public or private sector
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and service
• Utilized online teaching platforms such as Brightspace, Blackboard, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Admitted to practice law in any state
• Masters in Business Administration
• Experience teaching at an AACSB accredited school
• Expertise collaborating with and fostering relationships with faculty, students, staff, and administrators.
