Assistant Professor of Management

Position Overview

The Department of Management seeks candidates with expertise in strategic management, with a focus on innovation, digital transformation, and the strategic management of technology. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and service within the University of Antwerp and the broader academic and societal community.

Key Responsibilities

Education

• Deliver high-quality teaching in Bachelor, Master, and PhD programs in strategic management and innovation.

• Develop activating, student-centered, and competence-driven courses.

• Supervise Bachelor and Master dissertations.

Research

• Conduct high-quality research in strategic management, with emphasis on innovation and digital transformation.

• Initiate and coordinate research projects, acquire national and international funding, and publish in top journals.

• Develop an international scientific network and supervise PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.

Service & Leadership

• Contribute to academic service within the faculty and university.

• Take on coordinating responsibilities in teaching, research, and policy formation.

• Demonstrate leadership and coaching skills to foster growth and development.

Qualifications

• PhD in Strategic Management, Business Economics, or a related field.

• Strong research record with publications in top journals (or in progress).

• Ability to acquire external funding and pursue independent research.

• Teaching competencies aligned with University of Antwerp’s educational vision.

• Willingness to achieve CEFR B2/C1 proficiency in Dutch if not already fluent; many courses are taught in English.

• Leadership potential, organizational skills, and commitment to quality, integrity, and collaboration.

What We Offer

• Tenure-track or permanent faculty appointment, depending on rank and experience.

• Funding for a doctoral fellow for 4 years and €15,000 in operating funds for research start-up.
