This position will support the Department of Molecular Biosciences undergraduate education as part of the College of Natural Science’s 21st Century Education Initiative. In addition to teaching one or more biochemistry/molecular bioscience courses, the Education Fellow will foster expertise in inclusive teaching and learning among departmental faculty and provide direct support for course transformation in alignment with departmental goals.

The Education Fellow will be hired and supervised by the Department of Molecular Biosciences, supported by the Texas Institute for Discovery Education in Science (TIDES), the College of Natural Sciences education-focused unit, and join a community of similar individuals in other CNS departments.

A PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or closely related discipline; experience teaching undergraduates; ability to teach a biochemistry or molecular biosciences course, interest in teaching and facilitating change in higher education including experience in development, assessment and delivery of online courses and the use of molecular visualization tools for teaching; a student-centered teaching philosophy; ability to collect and distill meaning from data to guide efforts; excellent interpersonal skills, such as written and oral communication, and the ability to motivate faculty; excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to initiate projects and self-motivation.

Must be eligible to work in the US on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.
