Role Summary

The School of Nursing & Midwifery invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Mental Health Nursing. This role involves:

  • Teaching: Contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate mental health nursing programs.

  • Research: Developing a profile in mental health nursing research, with opportunities to engage in innovative research initiatives.

  • Administration: Supporting academic and disciplinary activities in collaboration with the Head of Discipline and colleagues.

The position offers access to state-of-the-art facilities, a supportive academic environment, and the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of the discipline.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and develop teaching within the discipline of mental health nursing.

  • Supervise and mentor students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

  • Lead research projects and develop a five-year research plan including funding strategies.

  • Contribute to administrative duties and the strategic development of the discipline.


Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Doctoral or equivalent qualification in Nursing or a relevant field.

  • Demonstrated experience and emerging profile in mental health nursing education and research.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to academic excellence and innovation in teaching and research.
