The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of treating cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, merkel cell carcinoma, and melanoma. At least 1-year experience treating head & neck cancers. Applicants must have an M.D. degree. Must be currently Board Eligible by the American Board of Radiology.

Teaching responsibilities may include the teaching, training, and mentoring of radiation oncology and medical physics residents, graduate students, and visiting trainees, etc. Informal and formal teachings include, but are not limited to, participating in resident didactic series, both as a lecturer and as an in-person discussant.

Clinical responsibilities may include treatment on the Head & Neck disease site time, as well as treatment of skin related malignancies, the evaluation and management of patients diagnosed with Head & Neck cancer, and the delivery of radiation therapy-related care.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing and leading prospective clinical trials and developing novel approaches and technologies for medical student and resident education.

Penn Radiation Oncology is dedicated to a three-part mission of excellence in patient care, basic and translational research, and the education of residents and medical students. Penn Medicine delivers a broad range of radiation therapy services to its patients, including intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy, partial breast irradiation, and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS/SBRT using Gamma Knife /Cyberknife/Varian Linac). Patients will also have access to proton therapy at the Roberts Proton Therapy Center, housing the largest proton therapy facility in the USA, comprising four gantry treatment rooms and one fixed beam room.
