The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the Division of Physical Sciences (http://chemistry.ucsd.edu/) and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (https://pharmacy.ucsd.edu/) at UC San Diego are committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body and invite applications for a cross-campus hire for a tenure-track faculty position. The focus of this search is in the area of Organic and Medicinal Chemistry. Specific areas of interest are synthetic organic chemistry, methodology development, drug discovery, and pharmaceutical chemistry.

The successful candidates will have a strong record of research accomplishment, an innovative research plan, and demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in teaching at the interface of organic chemistry and drug development. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the teaching of graduate and undergraduate students in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, including teaching lab and lecture courses, and teaching PharmD students within the Pharmaceutical Chemistry series in the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Basic qualifications:
-Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or Chemical Biology, or a closely related field.

Additional qualifications:
-Candidates must have received their Ph.D. by July 1, 2020.
