Position Description:
The Department of Physiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree.
Teaching Responsibilities:
Graduate and medical student instruction
Training graduate students and postdoctoral fellows
Research or Scholarship Responsibilities:
Developing a successful extramurally-supported research program
Establishing and maintaining an extramurally-funded research program focusing on mechanistic investigations of physiology
Research Interests:
The Department is particularly interested in applicants whose research leverages molecular, biophysical, structural, and cell-biological insights to inform physiological function. Department strengths include:
Membrane transport
Cytoskeletal biology
Molecular motors
Cell signaling
Metabolism
Cellular neuroscience
The Department has strong interests in novel technologies and interdisciplinary research.
