The Political Science Department at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, is hiring an assistant tenure-track professor whose research uses computational social science methodologies to study inequality and democracy in comparative settings. The position will begin Sept 1, 2025, subject to availability of funding. A Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field (e.g. political sociology, public policy, economics, data science) is required by Sept 1, 2025. The selected candidate will be expected to conduct research and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in comparative politics and research methods. This hire is part of a Chancellor’s cluster initiative on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, which will hire 11 new faculty members, including 4 focused on computational social science, and create a cross-disciplinary scholarly community focused on the societal benefits and implications of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science.

Immunization Requirements

Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
