The Department of Psychiatry, Yale University School of Medicine seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position as an Assistant Professor at the Connecticut Mental Health Center providing psychological services at the West Haven Mental Health Clinic.

The Connecticut Mental Health Center is a large, urban, academically affiliated community mental health center that provides inpatient, subacute, and ambulatory services to an ethnically diverse population of individuals experiencing serious psychiatric and substance abuse problems. The West Haven Mental Health Clinic provides comprehensive, developmentally oriented, trauma-informed programs of clinical care to clients 3 to 25 years of age whose clinical presentation is always complicated by social problems associated with urban poverty.

The successful candidate will work as a psychologist within an interprofessional treatment team and coordinate the development and implementation of comprehensive, developmentally oriented, trauma-informed treatment plans, provide clinical and case management services to assigned clients, coordinate and conduct psychological testing, conduct specialized trauma and risk assessments, assist with the development of trauma-informed programming, assist with program administration and program evaluation, and supervise psychology practicum students, psychology interns, and postdoctoral psychology fellows.

Qualifications

Strong candidates for the position will have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from an APA-approved graduate program with completion of an APA-approved internship, a developmental perspective on psychopathology, expertise in the assessment and treatment of complex trauma and related conditions, previous experience providing clinical and case management services to children, adolescents, and young adults, knowledge of psychological testing with children, adolescents, and young adults, and a strong commitment to graduate psychology training in an applied setting. All candidates must be licensed in the state of Connecticut.
