The University of Miami seeks a full-time faculty member for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This position provides psycho-oncology services for the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, which may include:
Mental health screenings
Psychological assessment
Individual and family therapy
Psy.D. or Ph.D. required
Florida license to practice psychology required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Record of mentoring students is highly desirable
Post-doctoral training in psycho-oncology is highly preferred
Experience evaluating culturally diverse populations is highly preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct mental health screenings and brief psychological interventions
Provide comprehensive mental health services, including:
Psychological assessment and testing
Family and group therapy
Behavioral management
Identify patients requiring psychiatric evaluation

Reports to the Department Medical Director of Psycho-Oncology for SCCC
Teaching and mentoring graduate students, residents, and post-doctoral students is expected
Experience working with cancer patients preferred
Prior experience in interdisciplinary teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
