Assistant Professor of Psychology

Position Overview

• Combines teaching and administrative leadership in the online AA and BA programs in Applied Psychology

• Teaching load: typically 3 courses per semester (2 online, 1 on-campus)

• Administrative duties: overseeing program operations, course assignments, student support, and assessment processes

• Opportunity for independent scholarship and program development

Responsibilities

Successful candidates will:

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (online and on-campus)

• Advise students on academics and career planning

• Serve on College/University committees

• Conduct research in contemporary issues and seek external funding

• Supervise graduate student research

Minimum Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field (or expected by August 2026)

• University teaching experience

Desired Qualifications

• Research and publication record

• Experience with learning management systems and virtual communication technology

• Current professional qualifications, if applicable

• Experience teaching statistics at the graduate level

About the Program

Online Applied Psychology Program:

• 8-week asynchronous courses, student-centered

• Faculty serve as facilitators and mentors, guiding students through discussions and assignments

• Involvement in course redevelopment and collaboration with instructional designers

• Part of College of Psychology & Liberal Arts (CoPLA)

• Offers online: AA & BA in Applied Psychology, MA in Organizational Leadership

• Offers in-person: BA & BS in Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Animal Behavior & Cognition, MS/PhD in I/O Psychology, PsyD in Clinical Psychology
