Position Description


The University of Washington (UW) is recruiting for a full-time Assistant Professor (without tenure due to funding) in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, Department of Medicine. This position has an annual service period of 12-months (July 1 - June 30). This position will perform funded research focused on the cellular immunology of lung transplantation. The successful candidate will participate in patient care and the mentoring of research trainees. Patient care will occur at the University of Washington Medical Center and the VA Puget Sound Health Care System.


Anticipated start date would be July 2020. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.


Qualifications
Requirements include an MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) and Board Eligibility or Certification (or foreign equivalent) in both Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. To be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. A competitive applicant will have a clinical and academic interest in lung transplant and a demonstrated track record of funded research.
