The Statistics Group in the Department of Technology, Operations and Statistics at the Stern School of Business, New York University, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level starting in the 2021-2022 academic year.

Statistics is a multidisciplinary program at the Stern School. The Statistics faculty at NYU Stern have diverse interests and expertise, and share a strong commitment to analytical and field-based research relating to statistical science. Appropriate candidates will have evidence of boundary-spanning interests across fields that reflect significant interfaces of Statistics with areas of relevance in a Business School, such as Information Technology, Operations Management, Marketing, Economics, and Finance. The Statistics Group includes 7 full-time Statistics faculty members and a number of faculty affiliates, and has diverse interests and expertise, including Actuarial Science, Biostatistics, Categorical Data, Computationally Intensive Methodology, Econometrics, High-Dimensional Statistics, Multivariate Statistics, Statistical Machine Learning, Stochastic Processes, and Time Series Analysis.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a PhD, or candidates must have successfully defended their doctoral dissertation prior to appointment, and are expected to be productive researchers and effective teachers at undergraduate, MBA and PhD levels. Experience in classroom teaching is highly desirable. The formal starting date is expected to be September 2021 and there will be no extension beyond this date.
